No. 1 Volleyball falls, 3-1, at No. 10 Baylor

WACO, Texas – No. 1 Texas Volleyball dropped its first match of the season to No. 10 Baylor, 23-25, 25-18, 20-25, 30-32, on Saturday at Ferrell Center.
The Longhorns (18-1) hit .336 in the match and held the Bears to a .281 hitting percentage.
Logan Eggleston finished with 23 kills and hit .309 with five digs and one block. Skylar Fields had 16 kills and hit .351 with three blocks.
Brionne Butler had eight kills, three blocks and three digs while Asjia O'Neal had five kills and six blocks.
Jhenna Gabriel had 30 assists and Saige Ka'aha'aina-Torres had 14 assists, four digs, three kills and two blocks.
Texas dropped the first set after digging a big hole, trailing 18-9 after a 7-0 Baylor run. The Longhorns were able to fight all the way back to make it 24-23 but came up just short, 25-23.
The second set saw the Longhorns jump out to a 19-9 lead and knot the match at 1-1 with a 25-18 win. The intensity was ratchetted up in the third and fourth sets. In the third set, Texas trailed 19-18 before a 4-0 run gave Baylor enough cushion to close out the set, 25-20.
The fourth set was a slugfest, as the teams went back-and-forth with Baylor edging the Longhorns 32-30.
Texas returns to Gregory Gym to host Oklahoma on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 11-12.
