The Longhorns close out the 2021 Indoor season with a shot at two national titles this week.
AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Track and Field program turns its attention fully toward the 2021 outdoor campaign following the NCAA Indoor Championships last week. This week, the Longhorns make the trip south to San Antonio, where they will compete in the UTSA Invitational on Friday and Saturday, March 19-20.
The Longhorns have already competed outdoors once this spring, hosting the Longhorn Invitational in Austin back on March 6. There, the Longhorns posted a number of impressive marks, highlighted by O'Brien Wasome breaking Tyrone Scott's 33-year-old men's triple jump record. The first outdoor meet at Mike A. Myers Stadium in 637 days, the Longhorn Invitational featured the UT outdoor debuts for a number of Texas student-athletes after the 2020 season was canceled due to COVID-19.
The UTSA Invitational is the second of seven regular season meets in the Lone Star State that Texas is scheduled to compete in this spring. That group also includes four home meets at Myers Stadium, highlighted by the 93rd running of the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on March 25-27.
