No. 4 Volleyball sweeps Wright State in NCAA Second Round

The Longhorns advance to the NCAA Regional Semifinal to face the winner of Penn State and North Carolina A&T on Sunday.
OMAHA, Neb – No. 4 Texas Volleyball opened the NCAA Tournament with a resounding 3-0 sweep of Wright State in the second round on Thursday at the CHI Health Center.
With the win, the Longhorns (24-1) advance to the NCAA Regional Semifinal to face the winner of Thursday night's match between No. 13 Penn State and North Carolina A&T. This marks the 15th-straight round of 16 appearance for the Longhorns.
Brionne Butler had a dominant performance, finishing with eight kills and six blocks, while hitting a career best .889 in the match. Logan Eggleston led Texas with 11 kills and added three blocks, four digs and one service ace.
Asjia O'Neal led the Longhorns with a career-high nine total blocks and added four kills and one ace. Molly Phillips had a big night, finishing with seven kills and six blocks, while Skylar Fields finished with five kills and three blocks.
Jhenna Gabriel dished out 34 assists and finished with two blocks, five digs and one service ace.
Morgan O'Brien led Texas with 14 digs, while Nalani Iosia added seven digs and an ace.
If Texas faces Penn State in the regional semifinal, it will be the 19th meeting all-time between the two teams and the first since 2013. Penn State leads the all-time series, 11-8. Texas and North Carolina A&T have never met.
