No. 2 Baseball lands three on ABCA/Rawlings All-Region teams

Ty Madden, Pete Hansen and Ivan Melendez were named to the American Baseball Coaches Association All-Region teams.
AUSTIN, Texas – Ty Madden, Pete Hansen and Ivan Melendez have been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association All-Region teams, the organization announced Wednesday.
Madden and Hansen were named to the Central All-Region First Team, making them eligible for ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors.
Madden has compiled a 2.41 ERA and a 7-4 record in 16 starts this season. He has struck out 119 batters in 100.2 innings pitched and has the best opponents' batting average in the league at .189. Madden was named the Longhorns' first Big 12 Pitcher of the Year since Taylor Jungmann in 2011 and the seventh Longhorn overall.
Hansen has produced a 1.84 ERA and a 9-1 record in 13 starts this season. In 83 1/3 innings pitched he has struck out 72 batters and produced a .200 opponent's batting average.
Melendez, a second team selection, is tied for the team lead with a .321 batting average and leads the Longhorns with 12 homers and a .610 slugging percentage. He has 46 RBI and 34 runs scored this season.
