Men's Swimming shines at SMU Classic

DALLAS, Texas - A group of the Texas men's swim and dive program put on a show on Day 1 of the SMU Classic.
The 400-yard medley relay team made up of Chris O'Connor, Caspar Corbeau, Cole Crane and Daniel Krueger set a new SMU pool record with their winning time of 3:07.25. The time also ranks as the top time set this season.
Carson Foster began his season right where he left off the 2021-22 season, on top. Foster won the 400-yard IM with an impressive time of 3:38.79 to set a meet record, while recording an NCAA A-standard time. He later won the 100-yard back with a time of 46.18 to meet the B standard.
Luke Hobson recorded a B standard time in the 200-yard free with his time of 1:33.94 after finishing second. Krueger later added a second-place finish in the 50-yard free with a B standard time of 19.69.
Noah Duperre, the lone diver to travel to Dallas, finished second in the 1-meter with his score of 329.05 points.
Corbeau claimed the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 52.58, the B standard.
The Longhorns closed out the day winning the 800-yard free relay with a time of 6:19.24 set by Hobson, Krueger, Coby Carrozza and Foster.
