Texas won both relays on day one of the Big 12 Championships.
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – No. 2 Texas Women's Swimming and Diving opened their title defense by sweeping both events on opening day of the Big 12 Championship on Wednesday at The Aquatic Center at Mylan Park.
The nine-team defending conference champion Longhorns established a program, meet and pool record in the 200 medley relay while also picking up the win in the 800 free relay.
The quartet of senior Julia Cook and sophomores Anna Elendt, Olivia Bray and Emma Sticklen started the night off by posting a 1:34.04 in the 200 medley relay, besting the UT record established in December at the Minnesota Invitational while also breaking pool and meet records previously held by Texas.
Texas followed that with a victory in the 800 free relay from the group of junior Kelly Pash, junior Kyla Leibel, Bray and Cook with a time of 7:01.74.
