Duperre places fourth on Men’s 1-meter on day two of NCAA Zone D Diving Championships

Noah Duperre, Brendan McCourt and Andrew Harness claimed NCAA Championship spots on the Men’s 1-meter.
MADISON, Wis. – Texas sophomore diver Noah Duperre placed second on the 3-meter springboard to highlight the men's second day of competition at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships at the Soderholm Aquatic Center on Tuesday. The Longhorns qualified five women divers on the 3-meter and three men on the 1-meter for the upcoming NCAA Championships.
Four Longhorns qualified for the men's 1-meter final with three placing among the top 10 finishers to earn spots at the NCAA Championships. Leading the way for Texas was Duperre, who tallied 717.30 points in his fourth-place outing. Sophomore Brendan McCourt took ninth (662.90) and junior Andrew Harness finished 10th (655.15). Freshman Manuel Borowski took 17th with 602.25 points. For Duperre, it is the second NCAA Championship event he has qualified for after placing seventh on the 3-meter on Monday.
On the women's side, senior Paola Pineda placed second on the women's 3-meter and was joined by freshman Hailey Hernandez, sophomore Bridget O'Neil, junior Jordan Skilken and senior Morgan Menninger in placing among the top 11 finishers to secure spots on the 3-meter at the NCAA Championships. Pineda scored 727.50 points during her second-place performance, while Hernandez finished third (726.10) and O'Neil fifth (696.50) to join her in the top five. Skilken placed seventh (652.70) and Menninger took 10th (643.75).
Pineda, Hernandez and O'Neil each earned their second NCAA Championship qualification in as many days after securing spots on the 1-meter on Monday. By placing in the top 11 on the 3-meter today and posting a qualifying score on the 1-meter yesterday, Skilken has also secured spots in both events at the NCAA Championships.
The NCAA Zone D Diving Championships conclude on Wednesday, March 9 with both the women and men competing on the Platform. The preliminary round for the women will begin at 11 a.m. CT with the final slated to start 15 minutes after the conclusion of the prelim. For the men, the Platform preliminary round will get underway at 3:15 p.m. CT. and with the final beginning 15 minutes after the prelim has completed.
