Play suspended during first round of Big 12 Men’s Golf Championship

TRINITY, Texas — The first day of action at the 2022 Big 12 Conference Men's Golf Championship was suspended due to weather with the majority of the field just getting started in their opening round on Monday morning at Whispering Pines Golf Club. No. 6 Texas is currently tied for second at 2-under-par through holes 4-7.
Monday's action started at 7:30 a.m. Central and was scheduled for 36 holes, but play was suspended just after 10 a.m. Central. The Championship was originally set for a 72-hole format but has been reduced to 54 holes.
Play will resume Tuesday at 8 a.m. Central, and the second round is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Central with the same pairings previously listed for Round 2. Wednesday's Round 3 will be the final round.
Texas Tech currently leads the team standings at 5-under-par through holes 4-7, while Texas and West Virginia (through holes 1-4) are tied for second at 2-under-par. Texas Tech's Andy Lopez (2-under through six holes) and Gustav Frimodt of TCU (2-under through four holes) are tied for the individual lead.
Seniors Parker Coody (1-under through seven holes) and Cole Hammer (1-under through six holes) are tied for third in the individual standings. Juniors Mason Nome (even-par through five holes) and Travis Vick (even-par through four holes) are tied for 18th, and senior Pierceson Coody (1-over through five holes) is tied for 27th place.
Spectators are welcome and admission is free to the event.

11:22 a.m. – 1st Tee – Kansas and Baylor
11:45 a.m. – 10th Tee – Texas and Texas Tech
12:07 p.m. – 1st Tee – TCU and Kansas State
12:30 p.m. – 10th Tee – West Virginia and Iowa State
