No. 5 Women’s Golf third after day one of Stanford Intercollegiate

Bentley Cotton shoots four-under-par 67 to lead the Longhorns.
STANFORD, Calif. — The No. 5 University of Texas women's golf team started strong in the Stanford Intercollegiate and are in third place after completing the first round on Friday.
Texas shot a four-under-par 280 on day one on the Stanford Golf Course. The Longhorns made 19 birdies as a team over the 18 holes of the first round.
No. 7 UCLA leads the tournament at 10-under and No. 11 Southern California is second at 5-under. Virginia (-1) and Northwestern (+1) round out the top five.
Bentley Cotton shot a bogey free four-under-par 67 and is second on the individual leaderboard, two shots back of the lead. Bohyun Park (70) and Angela Heo (70) also shot under par in round one. Cotton led the tournament in average on the par four holes at 3.78 and Park led the field in average on the far five holes at 4.00.

• Bentley Cotton made four birdies and no bogeys and carded a four-under-par 67 in the first round of the Stanford Intercollegiate.
• Bohyun Park made four birdies and shot a one-under-par 70 in round one.
• Angela Heo carded a one-under-par 70 for the Longhorns with five birdies.
• Farah O'Keefe was five-over-par through 11 holes but made four birdies over her last six holes to shoot a two-over-par 73.
• Tiffany Cao made two birdies in her first round and ended with a five-over-par 76.
