No. 5 Volleyball sweeps No. 20 Baylor

The Longhorns rolled to a 3-0 win over the Bears to improve to 11-0 in Big 12 play.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 5 Texas Volleyball cruised to their eighth sweep of the season, beating No. 20 Baylor, 27-25, 25-19, 25-15, on Friday night at Gregory Gym.
The Longhorns (16-3, 11-0) played in front of their 13th straight sold-out crowd and won their 72nd-consecutive home Big 12 conference match.
Madisen Skinner finished with 18 kills and added five digs and four blocks. Jenna Wenaas finished with 10 kills, while Asjia O'Neal had six kills and four blocks.
Ella Swindle had her sixth double-double of the season with 30 assists and 10 digs, while adding three blocks and one service ace.
Emma Halter led the defense with 18 digs, while Carissa Barnes added 11 digs.
The Longhorns dug a big hole in the first set and trailed 24-20 before mounting in incredible rally to win the set 27-25. Texas finished the set on a 7-0 run with three kills from Skinner and three blocks.
Texas led almost from start to finish in the second set, winning it 25-19, to take a 2-0 lead in the match. The Longhorns hit .364 in the set and held the Bears to a .175 hitting percentage.
The Longhorns held a slim 6-5 lead to start the third set before rattling off a 13-2 run to take a commanding 19-7 lead in the set.
Texas will head back on the road next week traveling to West Virginia for matches on Thursday at 5 p.m. CT and Friday at 4 p.m. CT.
