No. 3/4 Football falls against No. 12/12 Oklahoma, 34-30

DALLAS — The No. 3/4 University of Texas Football team fell to No. 12/12 Oklahoma 34-30 in the Allstate Red River Rivalry on Saturday at the Cotton Bowl.
Quinn Ewers completed 31-of-37 passes for 346 yards and a touchdown. Jonathon Brooks rushed 22 times for 129 yards, while Jordan Whittington (115) and Xavier Worthy (108) each had 100-yard games receiving.
Texas had two receivers - Jordan Whittington (115) and Xavier Worthy (108) tally more than 100 yards receiving for the first time since 2021 (Kansas - Worthy and Marcus Washington). It marked the 20th time in program history that Texas had two 100-yard receivers.
The Longhorns also had a 100-yard rusher (Jonathon Brooks, 129) and 300-yard passer (Quinn Ewers, 346), the second-straight week with a 300-yard passer, 100-yard receiver and 100-yard rusher. UT had a 300-yard passer, 100-yard rusher and two 100-yard receivers for the second time in program history and first time in the Red River Rivalry (Ole Miss, 2012 - David Ash, 326 pass; Malcolm Brown, 128 rush; Mike Davis, 124 rec; Marquise Goodwin, 102 rec).
UT had a 100-yard rusher and two 100-yard receivers for the fourth time in program history and first time since 2019 (Keaontay Ingram, 139 rush; Devin Duvernay, 110 rec; Collin Johnson, 110 rec).
Texas has twice had a 100-yard rusher and two 100-yard receivers against Oklahoma. The first occurrence was in 2008: Chris Ogbonnaya (127 rush), Quan Cosby (122 rec), Jordan Shipley (112 rec).
KEY STATISTICS
• Kitan Crawford blocked a punt in the end zone and freshman Malik Muhammad recovered as the Longhorns tied the score 7-7 in the first quarter. The score for Muhammad was his first collegiate touchdown.
• The Longhorns went up 14-10 on a 22-yard touchdown pass from Quinn Ewers to Gunnar Helm. The touchdown completed a nine play, 85-yard drive. It was the first career touchdown for Helm.
• Bert Auburn sent a 45-yard field goal through the uprights to close the gap to 27-20 with 1:53 to play in the third quarter. The kick was Auburn's 29th career field goal.
• Jonathon Brooks rushed 29 yards for a touchdown to tie the game 27-27 with 6:10 to play in the fourth quarter. Brooks went over 100 yards for the game on the run. It is the fourth straight 100-yard rushing game for Brooks and his fifth career game over 100 yards.
• Bert Auburn kicked a 47-yard go-ahead field goal to give Texas a 30-27 lead with 1:17 to play in the fourth quarter. It was the 30th field goal of his career.
• Oklahoma drove 75 yards to score a touchdown to go up 34-30 with 15 seconds remaining.
