Big 12 Conference announces 2024 Softball league schedule

Texas to open up Big 12 Conference action at Houston in second weekend of March
IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 Conference released its Softball league schedule on Thursday for the upcoming 2024 season. The University of Texas opens conference action on the road in the Space City against Houston on Friday, March 8. Each team will play each league opponent in a three-game series for a total of 27 conference games for each school.
The 2024 Phillips 66 Big 12 Softball Championship is slated for Wednesday, May 8 through Saturday, May 11 on OGE Energy Field at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City. All 10 teams will compete in the single-elimination format with the top six finishing regular season teams receiving a firs-round bye.
The remaining non-conference portion of the 2024 Texas Longhorn softball schedule will be released at a later time along with start times and television designations of UT's Big 12 games.
The Big 12 was the top-ranked RPI league in 2023 and was the only conference to have 57 percent of its softball programs finish with 40-or-more wins last season. The league finished with a 64-26-1 (.709) record against other Power Five leagues in 2023 and had a winning record against each of the other four conferences. This season will mark the debut of BYU, UCF and Houston in Big 12 softball. The Knights made the NCAA Tournament in 2023, while BYU won 35 games and competed in the National Invitational Softball Championship.
