No. 5 Volleyball advances to 15th NCAA Final Four

The Longhorns defeated No. 2 Stanford, 3-1, at Maples Pavilion to advance to the NCAA Semifinal.
PALO ALTO, Calif. – No. 5 Texas Volleyball knocked off No. 2 Stanford, 25-16, 15-25, 25-19, 25-22, in the NCAA Regional Final on Saturday at Maples Pavilion.
The Longhorns (26-4) advance to their 15th NCAA Final Four and their 11th in the last 16 seasons. Texas will face Wisconsin in the NCAA Semifinal on Thursday, December 14 in Tampa, Fla.
Texas dominated at the net, out-blocking Stanford 12-3 while hitting .342 in the match.
Madisen Skinner, who was named the Stanford Regional Most Outstanding Player, finished with 24 kills and a .383 hitting percentage, while also adding two service aces and six digs.
Asjia O'Neal was named to the Stanford Regional All-Tournament team and had 10 kills, five blocks and two service aces.
Ella Swindle, who was also named to the All-Tournament team, posted her eighth double-double of the season with 41 assists, 11 digs, four blocks and one kill.
Bella Bergmark led the team with seven total blocks and added four kills.
Texas started fast and won the first set 25-16, while hitting .485 in the set and siding out at 88-percent. Stanford came right back with an equally dominant second set to even the match up 1-1.
The Longhorns bounced right back in the third set, winning it 25-19 and hitting .364. Skinner had six kills in the set and the Longhorns had two blocks late to seal it.
Texas finished off the match with a narrow 25-22 win in the fourth and final set. The Longhorns had 6.5 blocks in the set to clinch the match.
