No. 2 Volleyball wins eighth-straight top 25 matchup with sweep of Missouri

The Longhorns improved to 10-0 on the season and 8-0 against ranked opponents.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 2 Texas Volleyball remained undefeated after dominating No. 21 Missouri, 3-0, (25-19, 26-24, 27-25) for the second match of conference play. The Longhorns continued its streak of sweeps for the fifth consecutive match and improved to a perfect 10-0 on the season, marking the first 10-0 start since 2022.
Texas was led by Torrey Stafford with 15 kills and eight digs, Ella Swindle with 35 assists and 10 digs along with Emma Halter who also recorded 10 digs. It's the second double-double of the season for Swindle.
Set One: The Longhorns opened the match with intensity, taking set one by a score of 25-19. Its aggressive serving set the tone, with four aces fueling a fast start and helping capitalize on momentum. Swindle notched nine assists in the opening set to lead the Longhorns.
Set Two: The closest set, with both teams trading points throughout. After a mid-set timeout with Missouri leading 11-8, Texas responded with a 5-1 run to reclaim the lead at 13-12. The Longhorns closed out the set with a 26-24 win, led by Stafford with five kills and four digs while hitting .444.
Set Three: Texas' side was highlighted by Swindle, who recorded 16 assists and six digs in the final set of the match to win the set, 27-25. The Longhorns haven't dropped a set in Greg in all five home matches this season.
The Longhorns will travel to Athens, Georgia to play its third game of SEC play against the Georgia Bulldogs on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 6 p.m. CT.
