AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas women's basketball team came up short in a 63-54 defeat against Baylor on Monday at Moody Center.
The Longhorns played in front of a sellout crowd of 10,763 and through their 10K for 10K game raised $156,000 for the Neighborhood Longhorns Program.
Taylor Jones posted a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds and Rori Harmon added 12 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Shaylee Gonzales scored in double figures with 10 points.
Texas honored seniors Anissa Gutierrez and Femme Masudi after the conclusion of the game.
Up next the Longhorns will close the regular season with a game at Kansas State on Saturday, March 4 at 4:00 p.m. CT.
Game Notes
• Texas drops to 22-8 overall and 13-4 in conference play.
• Texas finishes the regular season home slate with a 14-2 home record in the inaugural season at Moody Center.
• The Longhorns grabbed 18 offensive rebounds and held a 18-6 advantage in second chance points. Texas outrebounded Baylor, 41-35.
• Taylor Jones posted her third double-double of the season.
• Jones blocked three shots, her 10th game of the season in which she has blocked three or more shots.
• Shaylee Gonzales scored in double figures for the 21st time this season with 10 points.
• Rori Harmon dished out seven assists to bring her season total to 177, just three shy of her total from her record setting freshman season. Harmon now has 357 career assists.
• DeYona Gaston tied a season-high with three blocked shots.
