Jacoby wins 50m breaststroke on final day of TYR Pro Series Westmont

Lydia Jacoby collected her second gold medal of the meet; Carson Foster won his third silver medal.
WESTMONT, Ill. – Texas Swimming's Lydia Jacoby won gold in the 50-meter breaststroke on Saturday on the final day of the TYR Pro Series Westmont stop at the FMC Aquatic Center. Carson Foster claimed silver in the 200-meter backstroke and Anna Elendt earned bronze in the 50m breast.
Jacoby picked up her second gold medal of the meet with her victory in the 50m breast, touching the wall in 30.29, just shy of career best of 30.20. She won the 100m breast on Thursday. Elendt, the top qualifier during the prelims, took third in the 50m breast with a time of 30.68. It was Elendt's third top-three performance of the week after placing second in the 200m breast and third in the 100m breast.
Foster won silver in the 200-meter backstroke, clocking 1:56.97 to earn his third silver medal of the meet after taking second in the 200m butterfly and 400m IM.
Texas Ex Will Licon placed fifth in the men's 200-meter individual medley in 2:01.62, while Shane Casas, who trains with Texas Men's head coach Eddie Reese won silver in 1:56.06.
Leah Smith, who trains in Austin with Texas Women's head coach Carol Capitani, took fifth in the women's 200-meter individual medley with a swim of 2:13.37.
