Tournament Notes
The Field: In addition to the No. 8 Longhorns, the nine team Big 12 Championship field includes: No. 13 Baylor, No. 20 Iowa State, No. 23 Oklahoma State, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, TCU and Texas Tech.

Last time at the Big 12 Championships: Last year at The Clubs at Houston Oaks, the Longhorns claimed their fourth Big 12 title in the last five years of the event. Current sophomore Bohyun Park finished T3 for Texas. Bentley Cotton, who finished T11 and Sophie Guo (27) return from that 2022 Big 12 Championship team as well.
Ryan Murphy and the Longhorns at the Big 12 Championship: Head Coach Ryan Murphy is a four time Big 12 Coach of the Year. In his ninth season leading the Longhorns Women's Golf program, this will be the eighth Big 12 Women's Golf Championship event for Ryan Murphy. He led the Horns to three-straight Big 12 titles for the first time in program history from 2017-19 and the 2022 title and was named Big 12 Coach of the Year in each of those seasons. He also led Texas to a second-place finish at the 2016 Big 12 Championship.
Texas at the Big 12 Championship / Conference Championships: Texas has won 17 total conference championships in program history. The Longhorns have won seven Big 12 Conference Championships, beginning with league's first-ever title in 1997. UT also won the 2004 and 2011 conference crowns before sweeping the league titles in 2017-19. Prior to Big 12 Championship play beginning in 1997, Texas won 10 Southwest Conference Championships from 1983-96.
Awards
In addition to the team trophy for the team champion, the top 10 individual finishers at the Big 12 Championship receive medallions and will be recognized as the All-Tournament Team. If there is a tie for 10th, all those tied for 10th will be on the All-Tournament Team. If there is a tie for medalist, there will be co-medalists.

Sophie Guo, Senior, Orlando, Fla.: No. 47 in the latest Golfstat individual rankings and No. 189 in the current World Amateur Golf Rankings…has two top-10 finishes on the season with a best individual finish of T2 at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, California…shot rounds of 69-69-72=210 (-3) for that T2 finish…At the Momorial finished T7 as she carded rounds of 68-67-77=212 (-4)…her 67 in the second round is tied for the best individual round by a Texas player this season…finished 27th last year at the Big 12 Championships as a junior…posted a record of 5-3 at the Big 12 Match Play tournament…holds the UT record for all-time score relative to par with a eight-under par 64 in the third round of the Betsy Rawls Invitational in the 2019-20 season.
Bohyun Park, Sophomore, Farmers Branch, Texas: No. 144 in the latest Golfstat individual rankings and No. 46 in the current World Amateur Golf Rankings…has a best individual finish this season of T2 at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate where she shot 69-71-69=209 (-7)…finished T11 at the Momorial…Invited to the Augusta National Women's Amateur and made the 30 player cut to the final round…made a hole-in-one in the second round of the ANWA, the first ace in the history of the event…2022 WGCA Second Team All-American…four top-10 finishes in her freshman season in 2021-22, including a T3 finish at the 2022 Big 12 Championships where she shot 72-70-75=217 (+4)…finished T11 at the 2022 NCAA Albuquerque Regional and T17 at the 2022 NCAA Championship…posted a record of 6-1-1 at the Big 12 Match Play tournament this season.
Bentley Cotton, Junior, Austin, Texas.: No. 110 in the latest Golfstat individual rankings and No. 158 in the current World Amateur Golf Rankings…has a best individual finish this season of third place at the Windy City Collegiate where she shot 75-72-68=215 (-1)…The 68 is tied for the third best round of a Texas player this season…has had her round counted in 20 of the 21 rounds she has played this season…posted a 5-3 record at the Big 12 Match Play tournament to help the Longhorns capture the title…finished T11 at the 2022 Big 12 Championships…Shot a final round 66 last year at The Bruzzy en route to a fourth place finish…the six-under par 66 ranks tied for sixth in the UT record books for an 18-hole score relative to par.
Cindy Hsu, Freshman, Tainan City, Taiwan: No. 54 in the latest Golfstat individual rankings and No. 152 in the current World Amateur Golf Rankings…Came onto the collegiate scene with back-to-back top-10 finishes in her first two events…finished in 8th place at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate with rounds of 74-70-70=214 (-2) and 71-73-71=215 (-1) for 10th at the Momorial…added a top-five finish with a T4 showing at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate as she carded rounds of 74-72-67=213 (E)…Her final round 67 is tied for the best individual round of the season for a Texas golfer…competed in the Women's Amateur Asia-Pacific Championship in November in Thailand…has previously ranked in the top-100 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings…recorded a win at the 2021 IMG Junior World Championships and the 2021 Future Champions Challenge.
Angela Heo, Freshman, Murrieta, Calif.: Ranked No. 6 nationally in the class of 2022 by Junior Golf Scoreboard…In her first collegiate tournament she finished T4 at the Stanford Intercollegiate with rounds of 69-69-70=208 (-5)…That 208 is the best 54-hole score by a Texas golfer this season and is tied for 12th all-time…Heo went 3-0 in match play to help Texas win the Cactus Cup and 4-2 to help the Longhorns win the Big 12 Match Play tournament…In the semifinals of match play, Heo defeated 2022 Big 12 Freshman of the Year Caitlyn Macnab, who finished T3 at the 2022 Big 12 Championship…In the match Heo started with four straight birdies and shot 29 on the front nine. She was nine-under-par through the first 10 holes and had seven birdies and two eagles in a 14 hole stretch…Heo has had her round counted in 11 of the 12 rounds she has played in stroke play this season.
