Texas continues Big 12 road slate with upcoming trip to Ames for three-game series.
AUSTIN, TX – For the second consecutive week, The University of Texas softball program will hit the road as the Longhorns begin a three-game conference series at Iowa State on Thursday, April 6.
Texas (30-8-1) will be looking to extend its current 12-game regular season winning streak over Iowa State (12-19) when the two programs meet in Ames, Iowa. Overall, the Longhorns are 63-4 all-time against the Cyclones, including a 27-0 mark in games played in Ames, Iowa.
Thursday and Friday's games are slated to begin at 4 PM CT, while Saturday's finale is scheduled for 1 PM.
All three games can be seen on ESPN+ as John Walters and Aly Cappaert will call the action on Thursday. Noah Wolf and Cappaert will be in the booth for Friday and Saturday's contests.
Each game can also be heard on 105.3 FM with Andrew Haynes describing the action.

- Entering this Thursday afternoon's game at Iowa State, The University of Texas softball is currently riding a program record by having scored at least one run in 62 consecutive games, six games longer than the previous streak of 56 from May 4, 2013 to April 18, 2014.
- The last time the Texas Longhorns were shutout occurred on April 24, 2022, in a 3-0 loss at Oklahoma State. Since then, Texas has scored at least one run in 62 straight games, including every game so far during the 2023 season.
- If Texas scores at least one run in every game of the three-game series at Iowa State this weekend, the Longhorns' streak would move to 42 consecutive games this season with at least one run.
- The potential 42-game streak would be two shy of tying the 2014 team that scored at least one run in 44 straight games — from Feb. 6, 2014 at LSU to April 18, 2014 at Oklahoma — for the longest single-season streak in program history.
- By scoring at least one run in all 39 games (so far) this season, the 2023 Longhorn squad has the longest single-season streak with at least one run scored under fifth-year head coach Mike White.
- The previous longest span under White was a 36-game streak from Feb. 21, 2021 against Wichita State to April 17, 2021 at Oklahoma.
- If Texas scores at least one run in every game of the three-game series at Iowa State this weekend, the Longhorns' streak would move to 42 consecutive games this season with at least one run.

- McKenzie Parker, Mary Iakopo and Mia Scott accomplished the feat last season.
- The three student-athletes — Reese Atwood, Leighann Goode and Viviana Martinez — to record a double-digit hitting streak makes the 2023 team just the second team in program history (2022) to have three student-athletes to be credited with an exact 10-game hitting streak in the same season.
- Texas' Leighann Goode will enter this week's conference series at Iowa State with the most base hits among Division I freshmen as well as all Big 12 Conference student-athletes with 54.
- Goode also tied with LSU's Danieca Coffey for the third-most hits in the nation, behind Wichita State's Sydney McKinney (70) and Iowa's Nia Carter (57).
