Tee Times: The Longhorns will tee off hole one on Friday starting at 2:47 p.m. central time. On Saturday Texas will tee off hole 10 starting at 9:27 a.m. central time. The Longhorns will be paired with Baylor and Northwestern for the first two rounds.
Tournament Notes
NCAA Success: The Longhorns are one of four women's golf programs that will be in the NCAA Championships field for the seventh straight season. Texas will be making their 31stoverall appearance in the NCAA Championships. Texas ranks seventh in number of NCAA Championships appearances among all NCAA DI schools. Last season Texas' 13th place showing at the NCAA Championship was the Longhorns fifth-straight NCAA Championship top-15 finish. The Longhorns have advanced to the final group of eight for the match play portion of the NCAA Championship in two of the last three years. Texas has finished in the top-five at the NCAA Championships 10 times with a best finish of second in 1993 and 2002.
Format: Finals play for the championships consist of three days of stroke play on Friday thru Sunday (54 holes), after which the top 15 teams and nine individuals not on an advancing team will be determined. That is followed by a final day of 18 holes of stroke play (Monday) to determine the top eight teams that will advance to match play as well as the 72-hole individual champion. The team national champion will be determined by a match-play format that will consist of quarterfinals and semifinals conducted on Tuesday, followed by the finals on Wednesday.
The Field: The following are the competing teams in order of seed. Stanford, Wake Forest, LSU, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, San Jose State, Florida State, Southern California, Texas, Baylor, Northwestern, Pepperdine, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Clemson, SMU, Duke, Arizona, Oklahoma State, Virginia, Georgia, Texas Tech, Michigan State, TCU, Tulsa, New Mexico, NC State, Oregon State and Augusta.
2022-23 Season in Review: The Longhorns have seven top-five team finishes this season, including winning the first Big 12 Match Play tournament for women's golf. Texas also earned the team championship in the Cactus Cup match play event, where they took down No. 4 South Carolina and No. 6 San Jose State. The Longhorns advanced to the NCAA Championships with a third place finish at the NCAA Palm Beach Regional.
Six different Longhorns have a top-five individual finish in a tournament this season, Sophie Guo was the runner-up at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge and Bohyun Park was the runner-up at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate. Bentley Cotton finished in third place at the Windy City Collegiate. Angela Heo finished T4 at the Stanford Intercollegiate, Cindy Hsu finished T4 at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate and Emily Odwin finished fifth at the PING/ASU Invitational. Heo (T6) and Cotton (T9) finished in the top-10 at the NCAA Palm Beach Regional.
Coach of the Year Watch List: Texas head coach Ryan Murphy was named to the Watch List of the 2022-23 Division I Jackie Steinmann WGCA National Coach of the Year.

Cindy Hsu, Freshman, Tainan City, Taiwan: No. 83 in the latest Golfstat individual rankings and No. 184 in the current World Amateur Golf Rankings…Came onto the collegiate scene with back-to-back top-10 finishes in her first two events…finished in 8th place at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate with rounds of 74-70-70=214 (-2) and 71-73-71=215 (-1) for 10th at the Momorial…added a top-five finish with a T4 showing at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate as she carded rounds of 74-72-67=213 (E)…Her final round 67 is tied for the best individual round of the season for a Texas golfer…competed in the Women's Amateur Asia-Pacific Championship in November in Thailand…has previously ranked in the top-100 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings…recorded a win at the 2021 IMG Junior World Championships and the 2021 Future Champions Challenge.
Angela Heo, Freshman, Murrieta, Calif.: No. 81 in the latest Golfstat individual rankings and No. 323 in the current World Amateur Golf Rankings…ranked No. 6 nationally in the class of 2022 by Junior Golf Scoreboard…In her first collegiate tournament she finished T4 at the Stanford Intercollegiate with rounds of 69-69-70=208 (-5)…That 208 is the best 54-hole score by a Texas golfer this season and is tied for 12th all-time…Heo went 3-0 in match play to help Texas win the Cactus Cup and 4-2 to help the Longhorns win the Big 12 Match Play tournament…In the semifinals of match play, Heo defeated 2022 Big 12 Freshman of the Year Caitlyn Macnab, who finished T3 at the 2022 Big 12 Championship…In the match Heo started with four straight birdies and shot 29 on the front nine. She was nine-under-par through the first 10 holes and had seven birdies and two eagles in a 14 hole stretch…Heo has had her round counted in 16 of the 18 rounds she has played in stroke play this season…T6 at NCAA Palm Beach Regional…carded a 1-under 71 in the final round of the Palm Beach Regional.
