Texas Longhorns looking for second consecutive set of back-to-back wins on the young season
AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Texas women's soccer program will begin the back half of its seven-match home stand when the Longhorns host the UTRGV Vaqueros at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 31.
Thursday night's match can be viewed on the Longhorn Network or the ESPN app with a television subscription. Glenn Davis and Jessica Stamp will serve as the broadcast's play-by-play and analyst, respectively.
KICKING OFF
- Texas junior midfielder Lexi Missimo will enter Thursday night's match just one assist shy of becoming the first student-athlete in program history to be credited with at least one assist in five straight matches.
- Missimo is currently tied with three other former student-athletes with an assist in four consecutive matches:
- Lexi Missimo, August 17 – August 27, 2023; Oct. 20 – Oct. 30, 2022
- Alexa Adams, Oct. 16 – Oct. 30, 2015
- Hannah Higgins, Aug. 22 – Sept. 2, 2011
- Kylee Wosnuck, Aug. 31 to Sept. 10, 2000
- Missimo is currently tied with three other former student-athletes with an assist in four consecutive matches:
- With seven more points, Texas junior forward Trinity Byars will become just the fifth active Division I women's soccer student-athlete to surpass 100 career points.

- Lexi Missimo's 36 career assists are the second most among active Division I women's soccer student-athletes behind Arizona State's Suzuka Yosue (38).
- Rice's Grace Collins (30) and Arkansas' Anna Podojil (30) join Missimo and Yosue as the only active Division I women's soccer student-athletes with 30-or-more career assists.
- Texas will enter Thursday evening's match against UTRGV as the only Division I women's soccer program with multiple active student-athletes ranked in the top five in career points per game.

- Trinity Byars, Texas: 35 goals, 23 assists
- Byars, a junior, is the lone non-senior student-athlete on said list.
- Thursday night's matchup will mark the fifth all-time meeting between the Texas and UTRGV women's soccer programs and first since Sept. 11, 2022.
- The Longhorns are 4-0-0 all time against the Vaqueros with a 15-to-1 goals for-goals against difference.
- UTRGV has not scored against Texas since Sept. 14, 2018, a span of 1,812 days and 198:02 game minutes after scoring at 71:57 in the Longhorns' 2-1 win during the 2018 campaign.
- The Longhorns are 4-0-0 all time against the Vaqueros with a 15-to-1 goals for-goals against difference.
