KICKING OFF
- Under 12th-year head coach Angela Kelly, the Texas women's soccer program has a 7-2-2 all-time record in the first Big 12 Conference match of the season.
- Last season, the then-No. 25 Longhorns played to a 1-1 tie after 90 minutes at then-No. 12 TCU on Sept. 22.
- Under Coach Kelly, Texas has opened conference play against Baylor on two separate occasions: 2016 and 2018.
- In 2016, the two programs played to a 1-1 tie after two overtime periods in Waco on Sept. 23.
- Two seasons later, then-No. 11 Texas knocked off Baylor, 2-1, after a single overtime period in Austin on Sept. 21.
- Since the program's inception in 1994, Texas is 15-9-3 all time in the first Big 12 match of the season.
- Overall, the Longhorns are 1-1-1 against Baylor when opening Big 12 play against the Bears.
- The lone loss to the Bears occurred on Sept. 23, 2011, when Baylor won, 1-0, in Austin under then-head coach Chris Petrucelli.
- Texas played the 1995 season in the Southwest Conference and started the season with a six-goal win at TCU, thus making the Longhorns' overall record in conference-opening matches 16-9-3.
- Overall, the Longhorns are 1-1-1 against Baylor when opening Big 12 play against the Bears.
- With her next assist, junior midfielder Lexi Missimo will become the program's new single-season assist leader, breaking a tie with her single-season total (15) set a season ago in 2022.
- In every full season she's played, Missimo has finished that season either tied for or has broken the program's single-season assist record.
- Lexi Missimo and Trinity Byars are the first pair of Longhorn teammates to score 10-or-more goals in a single season since Niki Arlitt and Kelsey Carpenter both scored 10 goals each during the 2007 season.
- No pair of Texas women's soccer student-athletes have ever scored 11-or-more goals in a single season.
- With her next goal, junior forward Trinity Byars will become the first student-athlete in program history to score 11-or-more goals in three consecutive seasons.
- Byars is currently tied with Kelly McDonald (2001-03) for three 10-goal seasons.
- If Mia Justus records a clean sheet against Baylor on Thursday night, the first-year Longhorn goalkeeper will tie the program's single-season consecutive clean sheet record (4) that is currently held by three different former Longhorn student-athletes and was last accomplished by Savannah Madden from Sept. 25 to Oct. 9, 2022.
- If the Texas defense holds Baylor scoreless for the first 56:58 of Thursday evening's match, the 2023 Longhorns will set a new streak for the longest stretch of game time without an opponent scoring, surpassing the 552:56 mark set by the 2021 squad from Sept. 30 to Oct. 24, 2021.
- Texas will enter Thursday night's match at Baylor riding an active 18-match unbeaten streak against Big 12 opponents during the regular season.

- Texas is unbeaten over the last eight regular season matches against Baylor, dating back to a 2-1 Bears win on Oct. 25, 2015 in Austin.
- The Longhorns have not lost to the Bears in Waco since Oct. 19, 2012, when Baylor won, 2-1, in overtime.
