No. 10 Volleyball takes down No. 9 BYU again

The Longhorns completed the season sweep of the Cougars and improved to 4-0 in league play.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 10 Texas Volleyball rallied for another 3-1 win over No. 9 BYU, 26-28, 25-13, 25-22, 25-20, to complete the season sweep of the Cougars on Friday night at Gregory Gym.
The Longhorns (9-3, 4-0) finished with 13 total blocks and nine service aces to neutralize the Cougars.
Madisen Skinner had her second straight double-double with 14 kills and a career-high 18 digs, while also adding four blocks and three service aces.
Bella Bergmark had her best match of the season, with 10 kills and six blocks. Molly Phillips finished with nine kills and five blocks, while Jenna Wenaas had eight kills. Asjia O'Neal led the team with seven total blocks and added seven kills.
Ella Swindle had a career-high 44 assists and finished with nine digs, three blocks and three service aces.
Emma Halter had 17 digs and two service aces, while Carissa Barnes had 11 digs and Keonilei Akana added seven digs.
The first set was tightly contested, with BYU pulling it out 28-26. The Longhorns only hit .175 with seven errors in the first set, while the Cougars had a .310 hitting percentage.
The Longhorns bounced back in a big way in the second set, winning it 25-13 to even the match. Texas hit .417 in the set and held the Cougars to an .054 hitting percentage. The Longhorns had two different 5-0 runs and finished the set on an 8-2 run.
Texas dug itself out of an 11-3 deficit to win the third set, 25-22, and take a 2-1 lead in the match. The Longhorns did not lead in the set until the 22-21 mark and finished it on a 7-1 run to complete the comeback.
The fourth set was close early before Texas started to pull away to close out the match with a 25-20 win. The Longhorns were efficient offensively in the final set, hitting .312 and siding out at 75%.
Texas continues its homestand next week and welcomes Kansas to Gregory Gym for matches on Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m.
