Carson Foster wins 200m IM at TYR Pro Series Knoxville

Former Longhorn Carson Foster collected his second victory of the week.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Former Longhorn Carson Foster won gold in the 200-meter individual medley on the final night of competition at the TYR Pro Swim Series stop on Saturday inside Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.
Foster led for the majority of the 200m IM championship final and touched the wall in 1:58.83, six-hundredths of a second ahead of runner-up Trenton Julian. The victory gave Foster his second victory in as many days and a sweep of the individual medleys after winning the 400m IM on Friday. Texas Ex Will Licon took seventh in the race, finishing in 2:06.10.
Licon took second in the 200-meter breaststroke, registering a time of 2:11.77, while Jake Foster placed fifth after posting a time of 2:13.75.
Shane Casas, who trains in Austin with Texas head coach Eddie Reese and associate head coach Wyatt Collins, won the 100-meter backstroke with swim of 53.54.
