No. 2 Women's Swim & Dive sets 10 LSU pool records in season-opening win

BATON ROUGE, La. – The No. 2 Texas women's swimming and diving team opened the season defeating No. 19 LSU, 184-116, at the LSU Natatorium on Friday. The Longhorns set 10 new pool records, two UT program records and one SEC record.
Emma Sticklen led the Longhorns winning the 200 yard fly with a program record, pool record and SEC record time of 1:49.77. Sticklen opened the season taking two seconds off the previous SEC best time. She later won the 100 fly with a time of 50.23 and was part of two relay wins – the 200 medley relay (1:36.24) and the 4x400 free relay (3:14.50). All four races were pool records.
Jillian Cox made her Texas debut sweeping the free distance events and set a UT program record in her first collegiate race. Her win in the 1000 free in 9:25.88 took down Erica Sullivan's previous best set in 2022. She later won the 500 free with a time of 4:39.78 to record her second pool record of the day.
Angie Coe added her name to the Natatorium record book with a win in the 200 free (1:45.63) and the 200 IM (1:55.93). Freshman Emma Kern later won the 100 back in 51.49 and the 200 back with a pool-record time of 1:54.20.
Fellow freshman Piper Enge was the next Longhorn to add a pool record after winning the 100 breast in under a minute (59.67).
In diving, Hailey Hernandez won the 1-meter with a score of 317.48 points.
