Texas set for first Top 25 contest on the Forty Acres since Sept. 25, 2023
AUSTIN, Texas – In a marquee matchup across all of Division I women's soccer, the 24th-ranked Texas Longhorns welcome the preseason conference favorites and fifth-ranked Arizona Razorbacks to the Forty Acres for a regular season match slated to kick off at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18.
TELEVISION: Lincoln Rose (play by play) and Katie Goodman (analyst) will call Friday night's action in the television booth at Mike A. Myers Stadium for the match's SEC Network+ broadcast.
SERIES HISTORY:
- Friday night's meeting between Texas and Arkansas will mark the first time the two women's soccer programs have met on the pitch since Aug. 29, 2014, when the two played to a double overtime 0-0 tie.
- Heading into this season's regular season contest, Texas holds a 3-1-2 all-time record against Arkansas, a mark that also includes a 2-0-1 record in matches played in Austin, Texas.
- Of those three previous matches on the Forty Acres, the Razorbacks have failed to score a goal in each outing.
- When including her time in Knoxville leading the Tennessee women's soccer program, Texas head coach Angela Kelly is 10-0-2 all time against Arkansas.
- In the 12 all-time meetings against the Razorbacks, Kelly's squads have outscored Arkansas 26-6 with the opposition having never scored more than one goal in a match.
- Kelly is 4-0-1 all time against Arkansas in home matches.
KICKING OFF:
- Texas will be looking for its first win over a ranked opponent at Mike A. Myers Stadium since Nov. 1, 2023, when the then-unranked Longhorns beat then-No. 4 Texas Tech, 1-0, in the semifinals of the 2023 Sprouts Farmers Market Big 12 Soccer Championship.
- A ranked Texas squad has not beaten a ranked opponent on the Forty Acres since Sept. 24, 2017, when the then-No. 17 Longhorns knocked off the then-No. 5 West Virginia Mountaineers, 1-0.
- When she takes the pitch for Friday night's match against Arkansas, Texas senior goalkeeper Mia Justus will appear in her 40th match on the Forty Acres.
- After transferring from Florida State prior to the 2023 season, Justus has totaled 3,377:15 throughout 39 matches between the pipes for the Longhorns.
- Of those 39 matches, Justus has been credited with a clean sheet in 18 contests, while also earning the win in 28.

- Entering Friday's action, seven different Texas Longhorn women's soccer student-athletes have appeared in 80-or-more career collegiate matches: Madison Haugen (93), Lauren Lapomarda (93), Hannah Waesch (93), Holly Ward (82) Lexi Missimo (81), Ashlyn Miller (80) and Jilly Shimkin (80).
- Lapomarda, Ward, Missimo and Miller's totals all occurred as a member of the Texas program, while Haugen (78 – Georgia), Waesch (56 – Auburn) and Shimkin (19 – Penn State) all arrived on the Forty Acres after beginning their collegiate careers away from Austin.
