No. 7 Volleyball sweeps No. 18 Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – No. 7 Texas Volleyball picked up a huge road sweep over No. 18 Florida, 25-23, 25-18, 25-14, in front of a crowd 9,255 at Exactech Arena at Stephen C. O'Connell Center on Sunday.
The Longhorns (9-3, 4-0) were dominant at the net with 13 total blocks, led by a career high 10 blocks by Marianna Singletary. Texas also hit .333 in the match and held the Gators to a .146 hitting percentage.
Singletary finished with two solo blocks to reach her total of 10 block assists for the match and added five kills on just nine swings.
Madisen Skinner led the team with 12 kills, while hitting .360, and added four blocks and four digs. Devin Kahahawai finished with eight kills and six blocks, while hitting .667 in the match.
Averi Carlson finished with 13 assists and was great from the service line for the entire match with three service aces. Ella Swindle dished out eight assists and had five digs. \
Texas put together an incredible rally in the first set to take a 1-0 lead in the match. The Longhorns trailed 21-14 but went on to finish the set on an 11-3 run to win it 25-23.
After the furious rally to win the first set, the second set was all Longhorns as they won it 25-18 to grab a 2-0 lead in the match. Texas hit an impressive .433 in the second set while holding the Gators to a .250 percentage.
The third set was back-and-forth early and the teams were tied 10-10 before the Longhorns went on a commanding 10-1 run to go up 20-11. From there, Texas closed out the match with a 25-14 win to secure the sweep.
Texas will head back on the road next week to face nationally ranked Kentucky on Sunday at 12 p.m. CT in Lexington.
