The Longhorns will play games against South Carolina, Duke and UCLA in inaugural event.
AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas women's basketball team will participate in the Players Era Championship in Las Vegas in November of 2025, Players Era announced on Monday.
The event will include a round-robin tournament with Texas, South Carolina, UCLA and Duke during Thanksgiving week at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The Women's Championship will take place in Las Vegas over three days during Thanksgiving Week, and coincide with next year's Players Era Men's Championship. The round robin format ensures three marquee matchups for each team, with an overall champion determined by head-to-head record, then a series of tiebreakers including point differential, points scored, and
points allowed. Publicis Sports, the dedicated U.S. sports practice within Publicis Media, will support EverWonder and the Players Era Women's Championship media partners with advertising and sponsorship opportunities for the tournament.
This event will allow opportunity for athletes on each team to engage in at least $1 million of NIL activities for Players Era and its sponsors outside of competition.
"We are grateful, honored and excited to have the opportunity to participate in the Players Era
Women's Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada next season," Texas head coach Vic Schaefer said. "This event will allow us to compete against the best teams in the country early in the season and will give us a great indication and evaluation early on. The opportunity Players Era will provide us within the NIL space is really unprecedented and again we are so thankful to be a part of this tremendous event. This event will impact people's lives in such a positive way, both in basketball and beyond."
