No. 9 Men’s Swim & Dive sweeps four events on Day Two of Big 12 Championship

Texas has won the first seven events over two days of competition.
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – No. 9 Texas Men's Swimming & Diving swept four events on the second day of the Big 12 Conference Championship at The Aquatic Center at Mylan Park on Wednesday. The Longhorns have won all seven events through the first two days of competition.
Senior Brendan McCourt kicked off the evening with a victory on 1-meter springboard, scoring 435.35 points for the first conference title of his career.
In the pool, Coby Carrozza opened the finals swim session with a victory in the 500 free with a career best and pool record of 4:11.95. If marked the third career victory in the event for the senior, who also captured titles in 2021 and 2022.
Freshman Will Modglin followed with his first career individual Big 12 title, winning the 200 IM with a career-best 1:41.01, climbing to sixth on Texas' all-time performer list.
Cole Crane wrapped up the night for Texas with a victory in the 50 free, touching the wall in a lifetime-best 19.36 to win the title, the first individual conference championship for the senior.
The Big 12 Championships continues Thursday with prelims beginning at 8:15 a.m. CT and finals starting at 4:15 p.m. CT. The final session will be streamed live on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

Team Notes
- Texas swept the top-three spots in three events and earned the top-two finishes in the fourth.
- McCourt's 435.35 points on 1-meter edged teammate Nick Harris by less than a point, with Harris taking second with 434.65 points, while Noah Duperre tallied 419.65 points to place third.
- Carrozza won the 500 free in 4:11.95, while Alec Enyeart earned the runner-up result in 4:19.33 and Manning Haskal touched the wall third in 4:22.08.
- Crane was followed in the 50 free by Peter Paulus IV, who placed second in 19.52, and Camden Taylor, who swam 19.58 to finish third.
- Modglin was joined in the top-two of the 200 IM by Nate Germonprez, who took second in 1:41.29.
