No. 7 Women’s Golf preview: Darius Rucker Intercollegiate

AUSTIN, Texas — The No. 7 University of Texas women's golf team will be back in action March 4-6 at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, S.C. Eight of the top 12 ranked teams in the country will compete in the field.
When: Monday March 4-Wednesday March 6
Format: 18 holes each day

The Tournament Field: No. 32 Alabama, No. 20 Arizona State, No. 6 Arkansas, No. 11 Auburn, No. 63 Baylor, No. 18 Duke, No. 28 Georgia, No. 33 Kentucky, No. 4 LSU, No. 30 Mississippi State, No. 12 Northwestern, No. 37 Ohio State, No. 9 Oregon, No. 5 South Carolina, No. 7 Texas, No. 21 Vanderbilt, No. 2 Wake Forest.
Therese Hession Regional Recap: The Longhorns went 3-0 in match play and tied for first in their first tournament of the spring season. Texas recorded wins over No. 5 USC, No. 10 Florida and No. 24 Arizona State in the tournament. Farah O'Keefe and Bohyun Park each individually went 3-0 in their matches.
O'Keefe, Kim accept ANWA invitations: Freshmen Farah O'Keefe and Lauren Kim will compete in the Augusta National Women's Amateur, starting April 3 in Augusta, Ga.
Hsu wins World Amateur Championship: Sophomore Cindy Hsu carded rounds of 72-68-66-69=275 (-13) to capture medalist honors at the 2023 World Amateur team Championships on Oct. 28 at the National Course at Abu Dhabi Golf Club. Hsu is coming off an impressive T10 finish at the 2023 NCAA Championship.
Kims earns medalist honors at Jackson T. Stephens Cup: Lauren Kim captured medalist honors at the Longhorns finished runner-up at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup at Trinity Forest Club in Dallas on Oct. 11. Kim birdies holes 17 and 18 to force a playoff at 11-under-par. Three playoff holes were completed before it was called due to darkness and Kim came back the next day and won the first playoff hole of the day to capture the title. This fall Kim was honored as she was named a Rolex Junio All-American.
O'Keefe named to ANNIKA Award Watch List: Freshman Farah O'Keefe earned a spot on the final fall watch list for the ANNIKA Award, which goes to the female collegiate player of the year. O'Keefe, who earned the Big 12 Golfer of the Month award in September, shot par or better in 10 of her 12 rounds in the fall and had a 70.42 stroke average. In her first collegiate event, O'Keefe finished top-five at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate, in a field that featured nine of the top 13 teams in the country.
Hosting the NCAA Championship: The Longhorns will host the NCAA Championship May 17-22 at the Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, California.
