LEADING OFF
- Texas traveled up I-35 with a 16-16 all-time record against Oklahoma State in games played in Stillwater, Okla., but also carried a 41-32 all-time record against the Cowgirls as well.
- The Longhorns are looking for their first win over the Cowgirls in Stillwater since May 29, 2021, when Texas won 4-2 in Game 2 of the Stillwater Super Regional.
- UT has not beaten OSU in Stillwater during the regular season since March 31, 2019, when the Longhorns won 4-3.
- However, despite the road woes, Texas will enter Thursday night's game riding a five-game winning streak over Oklahoma State dating back to June 6, 2022, when the Longhorns won, 5-0, in Oklahoma City.
- With her next home run, Reese Atwood will tie Lexy Bennett (2012), Amy Hooks (2011) and Courtney Craig (2010) for 10th on the program's single-season home run list.
- Mary Iakopo (second place, 16 home runs) and Shannon Rhodes (fourth place, 15) were the most recent student-athletes to join the list when they both joined the list during the 2021 campaign.
- Additionally, Reese Atwood will begin Thursday evening's contest tied with Viviana Martinez (52, 2023) for sixth on the program's single-season RBI list.
- Atwood is three RBIs back of tying Shannon Rhodes' 2021 total of 55 for fifth place on the list.
- With a potential three-game sweep over Oklahoma State this weekend, Texas would move to 31-3 on the season, matching the best start to a season under sixth-year head coach Mike White.
- The Longhorns also opened the 2021 season with a 31-3 mark before heading into a three-game series against then-No. 1 Oklahoma.
- Texas will enter this week's three-game conference series at Oklahoma State as the only softball program in the Big 12 Conference to rank among the top four Division I softball programs in both team batting average and earned run average (ERA).
- The Longhorns are currently second in the country with a .391 batting average and fourth in the nation with a 1.26 ERA.
- With her 52 runs batted in (RBI) on the season, Reese Atwood is the only Division I softball player — enter Thursday's action — with 50-or-more RBIs this season.
- As a result of their offensive productive throughout Texas' three-game sweep of conference foe UCF last weekend, Mia Scott and Bella Dayton are the only active Longhorn softball student-athletes with 100-or-more career hits and 100-or-more runs scored during their time on the Forty Acres.
- Scott, in 155 games played at Texas, has been credited with 186 hits with 149 runs scored.
- Dayton, in three seasons since transferring from Arizona, now has 100 hits and 100 runs scored in 148 games on the Forty Acres.
