Beach Volleyball goes 3-1 at Islander Classic

The Longhorns defeated UT Martin, SFA and UTEP at the two-day Islander Classic.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas Beach Volleyball capped off a big weekend at the Islander Classic with a win over UTEP before falling in a close match against No. 20 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at Water's Edge Park on Saturday.
The Longhorns (5-5) took down the Miners in the first match of the day with Katie Hashman and Emma Grace Robertson winning at the No. 1 flight. The Texas No. 1 pair also won against the Islanders' top pair later in the day.
With the Longhorns trailing 2-1 to UTEP, Ava Patton and Presley Wright evened the match up with a three-set win at No. 4. Then the No. 5 pair of Ella Swinlde and Jenna Wenaas clinched the Texas win in three sets.
Against UTEP, Texas got a win from Patton/Wright at the No. 4 spot and the No. 1 court with Hashman/Robertson.
Next up for the Longhorns is a trip to the TCU Invitational to play against Houston Christian, Hawaii and TCU, April 5-6, in Fort Worth.
The Longhorns will close out the season with a pair of home matches against A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday, April 13 at the Wright-Whitaker Sports Complex.
