No. 4/7 Track and Field wins eight events at Cameron Burrell Alumni Invite

Jeremiah Nubbe wins both hammer throw and discus.
HOUSTON, Texas – The No. 4/7 Texas track and field program won eight events on Saturday at the Cameron Burrell Alumni Invitational.
Sophomore Jeremiah Nubbe won his second hammer throw event of the season with his throw of 70.49m (231-03). The throw is the second-furthest throw behind his own program record in school history. Grad transfer Luke Partridge finished third with a season-best throw of 58.66m, which moved him to No. 5 on the UT All-Time performer list.
Fellow grad transfer Cooper Tyler later won the men's javelin off his very first throw of 58.94m (193-04).
The women's discus throwers took five of the top-10 positions led by freshman Nina Ndubuisi who climbed to No. 3 on the UT All-Time performer list with her throw of 54.63m (179-02). Ndubuisi finished second overall behind Valarie Allman of Asics (67.17m). Junior Chrystal Herpin was third with a season-best throw of 55.53m (175-07) and senior Kiana Lowery was fourth at 50.27m (164-11). Sophomore Meredith Adams was sixth at 46.03m and freshman Kacie Rhodes was ninth in 42.19m.
Patrick Piperi had the top collegiate throw in the men's shot put with a throw of 18.86m (61-10.50), while Michael Piñones was fourth with a throw of 17.30m (56-9.25).
Nubbe later added his second win of the day in the discus with his throw of 58.64m (192-04) and Piperi finished third at 53.63m (175-11).
The women took the first three positions after Ndubuisi threw for 18.19m (59-8.25) and moved to No. 2 on the UT All-Time performer list. Marilyn Nwora finished as the runner-up with a throw of 17.91m (58-9.25) and Herpin was third with her throw of 16.75m (54-11.50).
Senior Kaeli Thompson took home the women's pole vault win with a clearance of 4.00m (13-1.50), while freshman Sophia Kowalski finished second clearing 3.90m (12-9.50). Senior Trinity Tomlinson added a win in the women's high jump after clearing 1.80m and junior Dylan Lineberger completed the sweep, winning the men's high jump with a clearance of 2.10m (6-10.75).
Junior Elijah Mosley earned the first Longhorn win on the track, posting the fastest time in the 400-meter dash with his time of 46.89. Grad transfer Ziyah Holman later finished with the fastest collegiate time in women's 800-meter with her time of 2:10.40 - .01 second from matching her personal best.
