The Longhorns in the NCAA Championship: The Longhorns are making their 17th consecutive and 72nd all-time NCAA Championship appearance. UT has claimed four NCAA team titles in program history (1971, 1972, 2012 and 2022). A total of four Texas players have earned NCAA individual medalist honors, including Justin Leonard (1994), Ben Crenshaw (1971, 1972 shared with Tom Kite and 1973), Tom Kite (1972 – shared with Ben Crenshaw) and Ed White (1935).
Texas at the 2024 NCAA Championships: Texas is the No. 6 seed in the 2024 NCAA Championships. The Longhorns will be paired with Tennessee and Florida State in Friday's first round and tee off from hole 1 beginning at 2:22 p.m. Central (12:22 p.m. Pacific). The same three teams will be paired together in Saturday's second round and tee off from hole 10 starting at 9:02 a.m. Central (7:02 a.m. Pacific).

Advancing to Match Play: Not only has Texas been a mainstay in advancing to the NCAA Championships, the Longhorns have consistently produced strong results while at the national championship. In the last 11 opportunities (dating back to the 2012 NCAA Championships), UT has advanced to the Match Play quarterfinals stage (final eight teams) a total of SEVEN times. Texas is one of just TWO schools (Illinois) to advance to Match Play at least SEVEN times in the last 11 opportunities (2020 tourney was canceled due to COVID-19).

The 2023-24 Season in Quick Review: Entering the NCAA Championship, Texas has competed in 13 tournaments (11 stroke-play, two match-play) during the 2023-24 season and has registered eight top-three team finishes. The Longhorns have claimed three victories (Big 12 Match Play on Oct. 9-11, Big 12 Championship on April 22-24, and NCAA Austin Regional on May 13-15), four runner-up performances (OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational on Sept. 15-17, Cypress Point Classic on Oct. 30-31, Johnnie-O Intercollegiate on March 11-12 and Augusta Haskins Award Invitational on April 6-7) and one third-place effort (Southern Highlands Collegiate on Feb. 25-27). All five players in the current postseason lineup have recorded a top-eight individual finish during the season.
Peaking at the Right Time: Texas enters the 2024 NCAA Championship as one of the hottest teams in the country, dominating its competition while capturing back-to-back team titles at the Big 12 Championship and the NCAA Austin Regional. The Longhorns won the Big 12 crown by an 18-stroke margin over runner-up Oklahoma, then returned to record a 16-stroke victory over second-place Tennessee at the NCAA Austin Regional.
NCAA Austin Regional Champs: The Longhorns registered a 16-stroke win at the NCAA Austin Regional (May 13-15) at The University of Texas Golf Club (Austin, Texas). This marked the 10th NCAA regional title in program history. Texas recorded a 54-hole total of 27-under-par 825 (273-273-279) and posted the low team round on each of the three days of competition. Regional top-seed and No. 5 Tennessee place second at 11-under-par 841 (276-280-285). The Longhorns dominated the individual leaderboard at the regional. Christiaan Maas, who began the final day in a tie for sixth and two strokes off the lead, fired a 5-under 66 in the third round to earn his first collegiate individual medalist honors with a 54-hole total of 9-under-par 204 (71-67-66). Nathan Petronzio posted a season-best runner-up finish, placing just one stroke behind Maas at 8-under-par 205 (67-69-69). Graduate Brian Stark recorded a season-best tie for third at 6-under-par 207 (68-68-71), and Tommy Morrison took seventh at 4-under-par 209 (67-69-73).
