By virtue of his win at the European Amateur, Morrison earned a spot in the 152nd Open Championship at Royal Troon. He earned the Bronze Medal at The Open Championship (July 18-21), as he tied for second among the 12 amateurs in the 152-player field.
Potter, who transferred earlier this summer from Arizona State, saw action in four tournaments for the Sun Devils last season and recorded a 72.18 stroke average over his 11 rounds. He posted a season-best tie for seventh at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational (Oct. 2-3, 2023) with a 54-hole score of 4-under 206 (67-70-69). Potter played in 12 tournaments during his freshman season in 2022-23 and registered a 71.00 stroke average, the second-lowest scoring average since 1985 by an Arizona State freshman (Michael Mjaaseth posted a 70.72 stroke average in 2022-23). He shot par or better in 22 of his 36 rounds during his freshman season, including 11 rounds in the 60s.
