No. 1 Men's Swim & Dive posts dominant 237-63 win against No. 25 SMU

Chris Guiliano debuts with three wins for UT.
AUSTIN, Texas - The No. 1 Texas men's swimming and diving program opened the season with a dominant 237-63 win against No. 25 SMU at the Texas Swimming Center on Friday.
The Longhorns debuted All-American and 2024 Olympic medalist Chris Guiliano to the lineup and he didn't disappoint. Guiliano swept the short free events with a time of 19.04 in the 50 and 41.89 in the 100 free. His 50 free time is tied for seventh on the UT All-Time Performer list with Daniel Krueger, while his 100 time ranks 10th on the All-Time Performer List.
Guiliano also combined with Will Modglin, Nate Germonprez and Hubert Kos in the 200 medley relay to set a winning time of 1:22.90. The time is the 10th-fastest time in school history.
David Johnston led a group of Longhorns in the 1000 freestyle as he recorded the winning time in 8:44.94. The time is the 10th-fastest in UT history. Jackson Huckabay was the runner-up in 8:53.89 and Alexander Lyubavskiy was third in 8:59.21.
Coby Carrozza later won the 200 free in 1:33.67, while Camden Taylor was second in 1:34.53. Rex Maurer helped UT sweep all freestyle events after winning the 500 free in 4:12.12, while Luke Hobson was second in 4:13.99.
Kos returned to the pool with a winning time of 44.94 in the 100 backstroke. Kos moved to No. 6 on the UT All-Time Performer list with the time. Freshman Kyle Peck finished second in 46.46.
Later, Modglin brought home another win in the 200 back in 1:42.26, while Peck added another runner-up finish in 1:42.37.
Germonprez (52.09), Will Scholtz (52.83), Brayden Taivassalo (54.07) and Modglin (54.25) took the top-four finishes in the 100 breast. Scholtz later claimed the 200 breast with a time of 1:54.33 with Cooper Lucas finishing second in 1:57.91.
Lucas also added a first-place finish in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:43.96, while Maurer finishes second in 1:44.00. Holden Smith (1:44.40) and Ryan Branon (1:45.26) took the next two spot for the Longhorns for its second event with the top four finishers.
Freshman Garrett Gould won the 100 fly in 47.16, with Smith (47,22) and Germonprez (47.77) right behind him.
Kos added the final individual win in the pool with a time of 1:42.81 in the 200 IM.
Texas' 'B' relay took first in the 400 free relay after Gould, Kos, Hobson and Taylor combined to swim a time of 2:51.07.
Nick Harris led the Longhorns in diving after winning the 1-meter with 37.50 points and was the runner-up on the 3-meter with 383.25 points. Luke Forester finished third on 3-meter with 380.73 and Jacob Welsh was fourth with 355.35.
