No. 1 Men's Swim and Dive wins seven events at the Eddie Reese Texas Showdown

Texas sets record-breaking attendance with 2,331 fans on Friday night.
AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 1 Texas men's swimming and diving program won seven events on the first night of the Eddie Reese Texas Showdown in front of a record-setting crowd of 2,331 fans.
The Texas 'A' team (Will Modglin, Nate Germonprez, Hubert Kos, Chris Guiliano) opened the morning session placing second in the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:22.89. This time met the 'A' cut qualifying standard for the 2025 NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championships. The Texas 'B' team (Kyle Peck, Will Scholtz, Ryan Branon, Camden Taylor) followed behind in fourth place with a time of 1:25.09.
The Longhorns took the first four spots in the 500 freestyle with Rex Maurer leading with a time of 4:12.80. Luke Hobson (4:13.11), David Johnston (4:14.36), and Coby Carrozza (4:14.86) secured the following three spots, respectively.
In the 200 individual medley, the Longhorns posted another podium sweep after Kos took first with a time of 1:41.28, Modglin (1:43.39) finished as the runner up and Germonprez (1:43.92) in third.
Guiliano closed out the morning session with a fourth-place finish in the 50 freestyle with a time of 19.10.
The Texas 'A' team (Guiliano, Hobson, Gould, Modglin) started the evening session with a third-place finish in the 200-freestyle relay with a time of 1:16.00, meeting the 'A' cut qualifying time. Finishing right behind was the Texas 'B' team (Ndebele, Peck, Germonprez, Filipovic) in fourth with a time of 1:16.91.
Maurer secured the win in the 400 individual medley with a time of 3:38.83 and Johnston was the runner up with a time of 3:41.40.
With a second-place finish in the 100 butterfly with a time of 44.05, Kos moved to No. 2 on the all-time best performer list, meeting the 'A' cut qualifying time. Peck followed behind in third place with a time of 44.74 to move to No. 6 on the all-time best performer list.
Hobson added on a first-place finish in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:31.20, meeting the 'A' cut qualifying time.
The Longhorns swept the podium in the 100 breaststroke and 100 backstroke. Germonprez (51.09) won the breaststroke with Scholtz (51.60) as the runner up, while Kos (44.60) won the backstroke with Modglin as the runner up. This time moved Kos to No. 3 on the all-time best performer list.
The Longhorns ended the night with the Texas 'A' team in a close race in the 400-medley relay, finishing second with a time of 3:01.62, meeting the 'A' cut qualifying time and moving to No. 7 on the all-time best performance list.
Nick Harris led Texas to sweep the top-three spots on 3-meter after scoring 411.55 points, the only competitor to break 400 points. Jacob Jones (371.85) and Luke Forester (344.95) completed the final podium positions.
