No. 1 and No. 2 Men's and Women's Swim and Dive set to host Eddie Reese Texas Showdown

Longhorns set to host six top-17 programs on Friday and Saturday.
AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 1 Texas men and No. 2 women's swimming and diving programs are set to host the inaugural Eddie Reese Texas Showdown against No. 3/14 Arizona State, No. 6/9 NC State and No. 17/1 Virginia.
Admission is free to the two-day showdown that will be highlighted by NCAA Champions, 2024 Olympians and a Friday night session with A finals.
The Friday morning session will begin at 10 am and will feature the 200 medley, 500 free, 200 IM, 50 Free and a pros race and followed by timed finals. The night session scheduled for 5:30 pm will be streamed on SEC Network+ and will begin with the 200 free relay. The 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, diving, another pros race and the 400 medley will conclude the night program.
Saturday morning will begin at 10 am with the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, 1650 free, a pro race and conclude with the 400 free relay.
The diving schedule for the weekend will begin on Friday at 10am with the women's 1-meter followed by the men's 3-meter at 11:20 am and will conclude with the women's 3-meter at 12:30 pm. Then on Friday night, each dive team will designate two divers from each gender to go last in dive order in each 3-meter event. Those last two divers from each team will finish their 6th round as part of the night session.
Saturday will conclude the diving at 10:30 am with the men's 3-meter.

Meet Notes:
- The No. 1 men are 4-0 in all dual meets this season and the No. 2 women are also undefeated with a 4-0 record.
- The meet is the first-ever Eddie Reese Texas Showdown to honor the legendary Texas men's swim head coach who led the Longhorns for 46 seasons. He led Texas to a NCAA-leading 15 national team championships, 13 NCAA runner-up finishes and 36 top-three finishes.
- Each session will also feature a pro race featuring some 2024 Olympians.
- The No. 2 Texas women have been led by Emma Sticklen who has broken six school records this season and Jillian Cox who now holds the 500, 1000 and 1650 free school records.
- The No. 1 men recently added 2024 Olympian Chris Guiliano to the team who broke into the UT all-time top performer list in both the 50 free (19.04) and the 100 free (41.89) in his first meet as a Longhorn.
- The Longhorns are set to host both defending 2024 NCAA Champions in the Arizona State Sun Devils on the men's side and the Virginia Cavaliers on the women's. The Cavaliers have won the last four NCAA meets.
- Rex Maurer leads the NCAA in both the 500 free and the 1650 free and the 400 IM, David Johnston in the 1000 free, Will Modglin in the 50, 100 and 200 back, Hubert Kos in the 200 IM, while the Longhorns also lead the country in the 800 free relay.
- Jillian Cox leads the country in the 500, 1000 and 1650 free, while Emma Sticklen posts the top time in the 200 fly and the 200 IM.
ENTRY:
Due to construction in the surrounding area, fans should access the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center via the pedestrian route on MLK Blvd. This provides direct access to the main entrance of the Texas Swimming Center.
PARKING:
Fans are encouraged to purchase parking for the Health Center Garage in advance via UT Click and Park.

Bevo XV, the world's most famous mascot and pride of the Texas Longhorns, will celebrate his 10th birthday on January 24. Come out at 4:30 p.m. for photo ops with the Big Guy at Santa Rita on the corner of MLK Blvd and Trinity St, one block west of the Texas Swimming Center.

Beginning at 4:30 p.m., the first 500 fans will get a FREE Eddie Reese Texas Lone Star Showdown koozie inside the main entrance of the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center. In addition, commemorative Eddie Reese Texas Showdown posters will be available while supplies last.
Break out the Band and Texas Spirit!
For the first time since 2023, the University of Texas Longhorn Band will bring the Texas Fight to the Eddie Reese Texas Showdown. In addition, Texas Cheer, Texas Pom, and everyone's favorite costumed mascot Hook `Em will be in attendance.
Meet & Greet with The Goat and Paris Olympians
Beginning at 4:45 p.m., fans can get photo ops with Longhorn legendary Head Coach and 15-time national champion Eddie Reese as well as several Paris 2024 Olympians on the TSC Concourse.
