No. 2 Women's Swim & Dive's Sticklen breaks 100 fly program record at Eddie Reese Texas Showdown

Texas sets attendance record with 2,313 fans on Friday night.
AUSTIN, Texas - The No. 2 Texas women's swimming and diving program competed in front of a record-setting crowd for regular season meets on the first day of the Eddie Reese Texas Showdown at the Texas Swimming Center on Friday night.
After the first day, the Longhorns lead the competition with a combined score with the men's program with 715 points, Arizona State in second (620.5), Virginia in third (587.5) and NC State in fourth (530).
The Texas 'A' team (Emma Sticklen, Piper Enge, Olivia Bray, Grace Cooper) opened the morning session placing second in the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:34.85, meeting the 'A' cut qualifying standard time for the 2025 NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championships. The Texas 'B' team (Emma Kern, Abby Arens, Campbell Stoll, Ava Longi) finished behind in fourth with a time of 1:36.29.
Jillian Cox secured the win in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:31.97 for second-fastest time in Texas history behind her own program record and met meet the 'A' cut qualifying time. Kate Hurst (4:38.62), Erin Gemmell (4:40.24), and Lillian Nesty (4:40.41) followed behind placing fifth, sixth, and seventh, respectively.
Campbell Chase finished second in the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:53.89 to move to No. 5 on the all-time best performer list. Sticklen (1:54.15) and Stoll (1:56.36) followed right behind in third and fourth place, respectively.
The Longhorns came back for the evening session in front of a record-breaking crowd of 2,313 fans with a second-place finish for the 'A' team (Cooper, Sticklen, Longi, Arens) in the 200-freestyle relay with a time of 1:26.44. This time moved them to No. 4 on the all-time best performance list and met the 'A' cut qualifying time.
Stoll finished second in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:04.30 to move to No. 10 on the all-time best performance list. Chase followed behind with a time of 4:06.57 to finish in third place.
Sticklen broke her own school record with a second-place finish in the 100 butterfly, meeting the 'A' cut qualifying time with a time of 49.55.
Gemmell secured a second-place finish in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:42.79, while Nesty placed third with a time of 1:43.21 to move to No. 4 on the all-time best performer list.
Enge set a personal best with a second-place finish with a time of 57.69 in the 100 breaststroke, moving to No. 3 on the all-time best performer list and meeting the 'A' cut qualifying time.
The Longhorns ended the night with the 'A' team finishing in second place in the 400-medley relay with Berglund, Enge, Sticklen, and Longi and a time of 3:28.00, meeting the 'A' cut qualifying time.
Bayleigh Cranford led Texas on the 3-meter competition after scoring 356.90 points. The Longhorns took the next three spots from Hailey Hernandez (333.30), Caroline Kupka (330.90) and Taylor Fox (325.05). Hernandez took first in the 1-meter with 344.95 points.
