Baseball ranked No. 14 in Baseball America preseason poll

Longhorns are one of nine SEC programs in the top-25 of the rankings.
AUSTIN, Texas — The University of Texas baseball team collected its third preseason top-25 ranking Monday morning, checking in at No. 14 in Baseball America's preseason poll.
The Longhorns were previously slotted seventh by Perfect Game and 19th by D1Baseball.
Texas is one of nine programs from the Southeastern Conference listed in D1Baseball's top 25, joining No. 1 Texas A&M, No. 2 LSU, No. 3 Tennessee, No. 4 Arkansas, No. 11 Georgia, No. 15 Vanderbilt, No. 18 Mississippi State and No. 20 Kentucky.

The Longhorns begin their first campaign under the direction of head coach Jim Schlossnagle.
Schlossnagle has amassed a 946-455 (.675) record over 23 seasons as a collegiate skipper, which included an 18-year stint at TCU, three seasons at Texas A&M and two years at UNLV.
The ABCA Hall of Fame coach has advanced to the College World Series seven times and reached the NCAA Tournament on 19 occasions.
Texas returns preseason All-Americans Max Belyeu and Jalin Flores. Last season, Belyeu was tabbed Big 12 Player of the Year, while Flores was named a consensus All-American.
The Longhorns also bring back 13 letterwinners from a year ago and add 23 newcomers, including 10 transfers.
Texas opens the Schlossnagle Era on Feb. 14 against Louisville at Globe Life Field, as part of the Shriners Children's College Showdown. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
