No. 4 Volleyball's Stafford named AVCA Player of the Year Semifinalist

Torrey Stafford named to the semifinalist list for second-straight season.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 4 Texas Volleyball's Torrey Stafford was named a semifinalist for the 2025 Division I National Player of the Year, presented by Nike Volleyball on Friday.
Stafford joins a list of 14 total semifinalists who were selected by the AVCA Division I Women's Volleyball Awards Committee. It marks back-to-back seasons Stafford has been named a semifinalist.
The junior from Torrance, Calif., leads the Longhorns in kills with 316 and averages 4.39 per set. Stafford has hit .333 this season after playing in all 72 sets for the Horns. Stafford also leads the team with 25 aces and has totaled 187 digs, totaling nine double-doubles this season.
In her first year in the SEC, Stafford has totaled 196 kills, 15 assists, 14 aces and 22 blocks. Stafford has also been named SEC Offensive Player of the Week thrree times and overall player of the week twice.
Finalists for the Player of the Year award will be announced Dec. 15 with the winner being announced at the AVCA Awards Banquet on Dec. 19.
Stafford looks to become just the second-ever Player of the Year for Texas after Logan Eggleston won in 2022.
