No. 14 Beach Volleyball remains undefeated after day one of the Longhorn Invitational

The Longhorns defeated its first two opponents of the Longhorn Invitational including a sweep of Coastal Carolina.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 14 Texas Beach Volleyball opened home competition at the Longhorn Invitational with wins over Coastal Carolina and Tulane.
The Longhorns started the day sweeping Coastal Carolina on all five courts, followed by a 3-2 win over Tulane.
In the first dual of the day, Texas took a 2-0 lead over Coastal with back-to-back two set wins from the No. 4 pair (Kylie Wickley/Ava Patton) 21-13, 21-17 and the No. 2 pair (Chloe Charles/Eva Liisa Kuivonen), 21-15, 21-14. The No. 5 pair (Macey Butler/Noa Sonneville) added another win for Texas, 21-17, 21-10 followed by a 21-15, 21-18 win from the No. 3 pair (Maddison Parmelly/Karin Zolnercikova). The No. 1 pair of Emma Grace Robertson and Katie Hashman solidified the sweep for the Longhorns with a 21-17, 21-15 win.
Texas began its second dual of the day with the No. 4 pair (Patton/Wickley) falling to Tulane, 21-19, 21-14. The Longhorns took the lead with back-to-back two set wins from the No. 2 pair (Charles/Kuivonen), 21-17, 21-18 and the No. 3 pair (Parmelly/Zolnercikova), 22-20, 21-17. Robertson and Hashman (No. 1) guaranteed a Longhorn victory with a 21-18, 21-11 win. The No. 5 pair (Butler/Sonneville) fell just short in the third set to finish the day, 18-21, 24-22, 12-15.
The pairs of Charles and Kuivonen (5-0) and Parmelly and Zolnercikova (6-0) remain undefeated in the 2025 season.
Texas will return tomorrow with home matches against Stephen F. Austin at 2 p.m. and Texas A&M - Corpus Christi at 4 p.m.
