Baseball trio collects NCBWA preseason All-American accolades

Texas is one of three SEC programs with multiple selections on top two teams
AUSTIN, Texas — Texas Longhorns Jalin Flores, Max Belyeu and Ruger Riojas garnered preseason All-America honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, the organization announced Friday.
Flores collected first-team recognition, while Belyeu and Riojas earned second-team distinction.

Following a breakout sophomore campaign, Flores was named an NCBWA Second Team All-American.
The power-hitting shortstop totaled a .340 average and paced Texas with 22 doubles and 56 RBI.
Flores also tied for the club lead with 18 home runs and 158 total bases.
A year ago, Belyeu received All-America accolades from three different outlets, notching third-team plaudits from the NCBWA.
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound outfielder posted a .329 batting average and recorded 53 RBI.
Belyeu led the Longhorns in slugging percentage (.667) and OPS (1.090), matching Flores with a co-team-best 18 homers.
A transfer from UTSA, Riojas emerged as one of the top relief arms nationally in 2024.
The 6-foot, 192-pound right-hander made a team-leading 26 appearances and led the Roadrunners in wins (10), ERA (3.25), saves (7) and strikeouts (75).
Riojas was tabbed an All-Conference Second Team selection following his sophomore season.
Texas begins the Jim Schlossnagle Era on Feb. 14 against Louisville in the Shriners Children's College Showdown. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Globe Life Field.
