STARKVILLE, Miss — Due to potential inclement weather, the 11th-ranked University of Texas baseball team's Southeastern Conference opener at Mississippi State has been moved up to 4 p.m. on Friday at Dudy Noble Field.
The Longhorns and Bulldogs have faced off 13 times, most recently meeting in the 2021 College World Series. Texas' last trip to Starkville was in 1922.
The 2025 campaign marks the Longhorns' first season in the SEC after 28 years in the Big 12.
In its inaugural campaign under head coach Jim Schlossnagle, Texas (14-1) is off to its best 15-game start in 20 years. The Longhorns have won 14 straight contests, dating back to their 10-0 run-rule victory over Ole Miss on Feb. 15. The 14-game winning streak is the longest since the program won 16 in a row from March 7-31, 2023.
