No. 12 Beach Volleyball takes down No. 7 California and No. 18 Hawaii at East Meets West Invitational

The Longhorns finish the tourney 2-2 to move to 13-4 on the season.
MANHATTAN BEACH, California - No. 12 Texas Beach Volleyball defeated two ranked opponents on the second day of the East Meets West Invitational.
The Longhorns started the day with a 3-2 victory over No. 7 California followed by a 4-1 victory over No. 18 Hawaii.
Texas started the day with a win from the No. 4 pair (Macey Butler/Noa Sonneville), 24-22, 21-17 followed by a 21-19, 25-23 win from the No. 2 pair (Emma Grace Robertson/Katie Hashman). California took the next point against Presley Wright and Vivian Johnson (No. 5), 24-22, 21-13. Texas secured the victory with a two set win from the No. 3 pair of Karin Zolnercikova and Maddison Parmelly, 21-15, 21-13. The Bears took the final point against Chloe Charles and Eva Liisa Kuivonen (No. 1), 21-15, 21-14.
Butler and Sonneville (No. 4) earned the first point for Texas with a 21-13, 21-16 win over Hawaii. After entering a third set, the No. 2 pair of Robertson and Hashman added a 22-24, 21-14, 15-8 win. The Longhorns won the next two matches with the No. 5 (Carys Patton/Johnson) and No. 3 (Zolnercikova/Parmelly) pairs, 21-10, 24-22 and 21-18, 21-14. The Bears scored the final point against Charles and Kuivonen (No. 1) 21-15, 21-15.
Up next, the Longhorns head home for the East vs. West Invitational hosting No. 14 Grand Canyon University, No. 7 California Berkeley, No. 2 LMU, and No. 10 Arizona State on March 21-22.
