No. 7 Women’s Golf tied for fourth after opening round of Darius Rucker Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD, S.C. — Led by sophomore Lauren Kim, who shot a 1-under 70 The University of Texas women's golf team is tied for fourth place after the opening 18 holes of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at Long Cove Club Monday.
On a windy day that no team shot under par, Texas posted a score of 7-over. Arkansas leads the field at 4-over, LSU is in second place at 5-over and Vanderbilt is third at 6-over.
Kim shot 2-under on her back nine holes and carded a score of 1-under 70 for the round. Kim is currently T4 on the individual leaderboard. Cindy Hsu is also top-10 after the opening with an even-par 71. Hsu is T7 on the individual leaderboard. Farah O'Keefe (+2) and Tiffany Cao (+6) were the other counting scores for Texas.
Angela Heo will lead Texas off tomorrow in round two at 9:30 a.m. CT.
The Lineup
Lauren Kim carded four birdies in her round on the way to a 1-under par 71. Kim is T4 on the individual leaderboard after the opening round.
Cindy Hsu carded an even-par 71 as she went even par on both nines in the first round of the tournament. Hsu is T7 on the individual leaderboard.
Farah O'Keefe, co-medalist at the 2024 Darius Rucker Intercollegiate opened with a 2-over 73 and is T23 on the leaderboard. On the 16th hole O'Keefe battled windy conditions and made a long birdie putt. On 17 O'Keefe made a par save from about 20 feet.
Tiffany Cao made four birdies on her scorecard and shot 6-over 77 on the day.
Angela Heo carded a score of 13-over for the opening round of the tournament.
