AUSTIN, Texas — University of Texas standout Rylan Galvan was among the 56 players selected to the midseason watch list for the 2025 Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award, the Wichita State Sports Commission announced Wednesday.
Galvan paces No. 1 Texas in five offensive categories, highlighted by a 1.269 OPS.

As of April 16, Galvan ranks fourth in the Southeastern Conference in on-base percentage, slugging and OPS.
The 6-foot, 215-pound backstop is also tied for 10th in the league in homers, averaging a blast once every 8.9 at-bats.
Entering the Longhorns' series against No. 8 Auburn, Galvan is riding a 27-game on-base streak. During that stretch, he has posted a .370 average.
Behind the plate, the Sinton, Texas, native has thrown out six of 13 attempted base stealers, while tallying a .986 fielding percentage.
With Galvan as the Longhorns' primary catcher, Texas' pitching staff has totaled a 2.97 ERA, which is the second-bark mark in the country.
Galvan is aiming to become the first Buster Posey/Johnny Bench National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award winner in program history.
