Schuessler powers No. 1 Baseball to 14-2 run-rule win over No. 8 Auburn

First baseman becomes fourth Longhorn with eight RBI in a game since 2008.
AUSTIN, Texas — Graduate student Kimble Schuessler mounted his first career multi-homer effort and drove in eight runs, as No. 1 Texas posted a 14-2 run-rule victory over No. 8 Auburn on Saturday afternoon at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
Schuessler's career performance led the Longhorns (33-5, 16-2 SEC) to their sixth sweep of the season, including their second against a top-10 team in the last three weeks. Texas has now won 10 of its last 11 conference games.
The first baseman became just the fifth Longhorn to record eight RBI in a game since 2008, joining Brandon Belt (2008), Porter Brown (2023), Eric Kennedy (2023) and Will Gasparino (2025)
Schuessler sandwiched a two-RBI double with a pair of three-run homers, highlighted by the game-ending blast in the seventh.
Across the weekend set against the Tigers (27-13, 9-9 SEC), the 6-foot-2, 215-pound slugger finished 8-for-12 with three home runs and 10 RBI.
Schuessler's go-ahead shot in the first sparked Texas' sixth run-rule win of the year.
Infielders Adrian Rodriguez and Casey Borba both launched a homer, as part of a 15-hit outburst for the Longhorns.
On the mound, Texas used three pitchers to limit Auburn to only two runs on four hits.
Right-hander Jason Flores (4-1) logged the victory in relief of starter Ruger Riojas. Flores matched a season-best 3 2/3 innings, following Riojas' three frames.
Meanwhile, righty Aiden Moffett registered the final out in the top of the seventh, setting the stage for Schuessler.
Up next, the Longhorns hit the road to face Texas State on Tuesday. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. at Bobcat Ballpark.
