Men’s Tennis signs international standout Marionneau

Lucas Marionneau of La Roche-sur-Yon, France, who has been one of the top French juniors players, will join the Longhorns’ roster for the fall 2025.
Austin – University of Texas Men's Tennis has signed international standout Lucas Marionneau to an Athletic Scholarship Agreement (ASA), head coach Bruce Berque announced Wednesday. Marionneau is anticipated to join the program in the fall of 2025.
 
"After spending time with Lucas on his official visit, I was very pleased with how well he fit in with our guys, and how comfortable he seemed to be on the 40 Acres," Berque said. "In addition to being a great tennis player, Lucas is mature and driven for success. I have no doubt that he will make an outstanding contribution to our program."
 
A native of La Roche-sur-Yon, Marionneau has been one of the top juniors players in France and is currently ranked ATP career highs of No. 909 in singles and No. 1405 in doubles.
 
In juniors, Marionneau won both the singles and doubles titles at the 2022 French national championships in the 16 and under division. Also in 2022, Marionneau earned a bronze medal with the French team at the European Championships, and a fourth-place team finish at Davis Cup Juniors. Marionneau later played in both the singles and doubles main draws at Roland Garros Juniors in 2024.
 
Marionneau has secured three juniors singles titles in his career, including the J100 Glasgow in 2024, and J5 tournaments in Ponts de Ce and Honfleur in 2022. He also claimed six doubles championships, including the J200 Cap d'Ail in 2024, J100 tournaments in Loughborough, Saint Gregoire and Saint Cyprien in 2023, along with the J3 Sait Gregoire and J4 Dijon in 2022.
 
In pro tennis, Marionneau reached the singles semifinals of the M15+H Bagnoles de l'Orne in January. He also has several wins over players who hold career high rankings in the ATP top 500, including Daniel Masur (career high No. 176) and Lucas Poullain (career high No. 244) in qualifying of the Lille Challenger 125 in February. In doubles, Marionneau and partner Felix Balshaw advanced the final of the M25 Carnac in June.
