Women’s Golf tabbed No. 2 in Golf Channel’s preseason rankings

Four Longhorns named preseason All-Americans.
AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas women's golf team earned the No. 2 spot in the Golf Channel preseason rankings announced on Friday. Four Longhorns (Farah O'Keefe, Lauren Kim, Cindy Hsu and Vivian Lu) were named preseason All-Americans.
O'Keefe was named to the First Team, Kim and Hsu on the second team and Lu on the third team. Texas and Stanford were the only schools with four players on the three All-American teams.
The Longhorns return All-Americans Farah O'Keefe, Lauren Kim and Cindy Hsu from the 2024-25 season. Texas has four players in the top-60 of the World Amateur Golf Rankings highlighted by O'Keefe at 7 and Kim (16), Hsu (34) and new addition Vivian Lu (58).
O'Keefe and Kim were announced on the watch list for the ANNIKA Award earlier this week, which goes to the top player in women's collegiate golf.
O'Keefe is currently ranked No. 7 on the World Amateur Golf Rankings. O'Keefe, who finished T36 at the U.S. Women's Open and runner-up at the British Amateur Championship, finished runner-up at the SEC Championship with a score of 5-under-par and finished runner-up at the NCAA Lubbbock Regional. O'Keefe recorded eight top-10 finishes for the 2024-25 season and six top-five finishes. In addition to her collegiate team events, O'Keefe finished 10th place at the Augusta National Women's Amateur.
Kim, who is ranked No. 16 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, finished T14 at the NCAA Championship. Kim was T5 at the SEC Championship and has tallied six top-five finishes on the season. Kim earned medalist honors at the Betsy Rawls Invitational this season, her second win of her collegiate career.
Hsu, who is ranked No. 34 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, earned All-America honorable mention honors following the 2024-25 season. Hsu also earned Academic All-America honors from the College Sports Communicators organization. Hsu earned medalist honors at the Ladies National Golf Association Amateur Championship this summer in a six-shot victory.
Vivian Lu, ranked No. 58 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings is the newest addition to the Longhorns. Lu comes to Austin after two seasons at Washington. Lu was the No. 1 player for Washington in the 2024-25 season and earned 2025 WGCA All-America honorable mention honors as well as All-Big Ten First Team honors. Lu also earned All-American honorable mention honors from Golfweek. Her best finish came at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational where she was the co-champion at 11-under-par.
Texas has reached match play at the NCAA Championship in two of the last three seasons. The Longhorns are tied for the third longest active streak of advancing to the NCAA Championship as they have qualified in each of the last nine seasons. Texas has made 33 appearances at the NCAA Championship in program history.
The Longhorns open the 2025 fall schedule at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate, Sept. 8-10 in Lake Elmo, Minnesota.
