Dillard played for Texas from 1999-2003 and was on the 2003 Final Four team for the Longhorns.
SUGAR LAND, Texas — The Texas High School Basketball Hall of Fame announced the 2026 class, which includes former Texas women's basketball player Tai Dillard.
The new members will be inducted during a banquet at the Doubletree By Hilton San Antonio Airport, Saturday, May 9, 2026, in San Antonio at the annual Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) Clinic.
The coach inductees are Jeff Bell, Donna Capps, Jerry Cassell and Karen Aulenbacher-Heintz. The player inductees include Derrick Daniels, Tai Dillard, Karl Godine and Sara Hinkley.
Tai Dillard was a three-year starter for San Antonio Sam Houston High School. She lettered in four different sports while at Sam Houston -- basketball, cross country, volleyball and track. She led Sam Houston to back-to-back State Tournaments during her junior and senior years in 1998 and 1999. A sharp shooting guard and fierce competitor, she was named All-City and All-State in 1997 and 1998, In 1999, after her senior year she was selected All-City, All-State, and Miss Texas Basketball. She was selected as one of the Top 100 players in UIL history in 2021. After graduating from Sam Houston High School, Dillard went on to play for legendary coach Jody Conradt at the University of Texas, where she played in four consecutive NCAA tournaments, played in the 2003 Final Four, and was twice named to the Big 12 All-Academic team. Following graduation from UT, she went on to play professionally for the San Antonio Silver Stars of the WNBA. She was recently named the head coach of the Prairie View A&M University Lady Panthers Basketball Team.
Dillard was named the head coach at Prairie View A&M on May 1 and will bring her team to Austin to play the Longhorns on Dec. 7.
